[ARFC] Chaos Risk Agents

Summary

LlamaRisk supports this proposal. The move toward a modular, generalized framework for Risk Oracle data ingestion is a logical evolution from the current Risk Stewards system, offering higher scalability and reducing technical debt. Following our review of the proposal and the associated architecture, LlamaRisk engaged directly with the Chaos Labs team to clarify specific details regarding access control, automation, and the long-term availability of this infrastructure.

We would like to share the key clarifications resulting from our private due diligence, as they provide important additional context to this proposal:

  • Governance Control: Chaos Labs confirmed that Aave Governance will hold the Hub superadmin role and manage all Agent permissions. No additional multisig is expected; the control structure mirrors the existing Stewards system.
  • Automation: In practice, the system will rely on the Aave Robot (using Chainlink automation) to execute updates, with Gelato serving as a fallback on networks where Chainlink is unavailable.
  • Open Source & Reusability: A crucial aspect we wish to highlight is that this architecture is open-source (MIT licensed). Chaos Labs confirmed that while BGD Labs will maintain the factory repository into the Aave DAO organization for specific Aave configurations, the intention is for the infrastructure to be available to all service providers. This allows other service providers to contribute to or utilize the system for v3, v4, or other future implementations without redundant development.

We appreciate the transparency from Chaos Labs and the collaborative approach with BGD Labs. We look forward to the implementation.
