The 2024 Aave events (Open Finance Day, rAAVE Brussels, rAAVE Bangkok, DeFi Renaissance Day and the Aave Devcon Booth) have been hugely successful, drawing large, enthusiastic crowds, and generating social media activity that reinforced Aave’s brand dominance.
Open Finance Day
In July, following EthCC[8] in Brussels, Aave hosted Open Finance Day, recruiting high-profile partners such as Chainlink, Uniswap, and Aptos for a half-day event. This event focused on ways the industry can accelerate DeFi adoption with panels that included prominent founders, builders, legal experts and excellent moderators, including Laura Shin from Unchained podcast. All panels can be watched on YouTube here.
rAAVE Brussels
Designed to reinforce the Aave brand and build an emotional connection and loyalty among the community, rAAVE Brussels was one of the most anticipated and sought-after events at EthCC[8]. Held on the last night of the conference, the event was over capacity with lines of people outside hoping to get in.
Tickets were thoughtfully distributed to different targeted groups with rAAVE tickets allotted to BGD Labs, ACI, among other key communities who, in turn, distributed them to their members. We also used the now-established and familiar GHO Passports, selling out tickets quickly.
Thank you to everyone in the community who helped plan and participated in this Aave DAO-sponsored community event.
Devcon Booth
At Devcon, Aave Labs set up the Aave booth, fielding technical and other questions from users, builders and those interested in learning more about Aave. The booth stayed busy throughout the two days of Devcon, and we gave away tons of merchandise, which was highly in demand with many people highlighting Aave swag on social media and wearing it throughout the week with pride.
DeFi Renaissance Day
During Devcon, Aave came together with friends from ZKSync, Chainlink, Sky, Lido, Uniswap, Scroll, Centrifuge, and Ethena Labs to host DeFi Renaissance Day. Panels covered everything from DeFi’s maturation, the potential of RWAs to incentives, security and cross-chain expansion. These carefully curated panels were packed with OGs from the DeFi space, and the crowd was completely full to listen in. Attendance was high, with over 1,400 registered attendees and a consistently full audience throughout each panel, and a line to get in outside the door. All panels can be watched on YouTube here.
rAAVE Bangkok
rAAVE Bangkok was the perfect way to close out not only Devcon, but a successful year for the Aave ecosystem. We partnered with Chainlink and Aptos for this rAAVE, and it was a tasteful and wholesome event to celebrate our community.
As customary, tickets were distributed to different targeted groups, including BGD Labs, ACI, Chaos Labs, TokenLogic, and KarpatKey, among other key communities, who distributed them to their members. We also used GHO Passports for this event and sold out our full allotment quickly.

As a final note, we’re pleased to confirm that the 2024 events strategy, which included careful budget allocation and partnering with top tier projects to co-finance the events, has resulted in $160,000 unspent funds that are being carried over towards the 2025 events.
Thank you to everyone who helped plan, attended and participated in the Aave DAO-sponsored community events this past year. We look forward to continuing to support the community in 2025.
