AL Development Update | June 2026

Greetings, Aave community!

Aave Labs has continued to make steady progress on multiple protocol endeavors in line with its service provider scope.

The below summary highlights developments in the Aave Protocol and reflects Aave Labs’ transparent and collaborative approach of building in public, welcoming community feedback, and fostering auditability through open-source principles.

June update:

  • Continued hardening the protocol’s security posture.

  • Launched the Aave V4 Paxos Hub and onboarded PT-USDG-24SEP2026.

  • Published the ChainSecurity audit of the Aave V4 TokenizationSpoke.

  • Completed Monad expansion preparations and submitted the activation proposal.

  • Onboarded PT-sUSDe and PT-srUSDe to Aave V3 Plasma and Core.

  • Published the Technical Asset Listing Framework and its first asset assessments.

  • Presented the stkGHO to sGHO migration tool.

  • Began internal user onboarding for the Aave App.

  • Advanced Aave Pro and Aave Interface improvements.

Aave Protocol

Security remained a central priority throughout the month. The team continued to harden the protocol through regular engagements with Certora as part of their ongoing work, sustained review by the internal security team, and further development of the AI-based security framework across both internal and external implementations.

Aave V4

Aave V4 continued its growth trajectory throughout the month, surpassing $200M in total deposits. As adoption increased, supply and borrow caps were raised on multiple occasions, following a deliberately conservative risk and security approach that expands market capacity incrementally as real usage data accumulates.

A significant milestone during the month was the launch of the Aave V4 Paxos Hub and the onboarding of PT-USDG-24SEP2026 (proposal#496), extending the Hub and Spokes architecture and opening the door to a broader range of assets with a similar risk profile.

On the security side, ChainSecurity published its audit of the Aave V4 TokenizationSpoke, providing additional visibility into the protocol’s security review process and audit findings, with further reports on the TokenizationSpoke set to be published soon. In parallel, preparations for Aave V4 activations on Avalanche and Arc progressed and remain ongoing.

Aave V3

Preparations for the Aave V3 expansion to Monad were completed, and an AIP was submitted for voting (proposal#). The proposal covers the full set of Aave infrastructure required for a new chain, alongside the network assessment and the corresponding asset assessments, following the parameters recommended by the Risk Service Providers engaged with the DAO.

We also onboarded PT-sUSDe-22OCT2026 to the Aave V3 Plasma instance through a Direct-to-AIP (proposal#493). Given the established adoption of PT-sUSDe collateral on Aave, the listing provides a natural rollover destination for existing users ahead of the PT-sUSDe-18JUN2026 expiry.

Governance Proposals

We sustained an active cadence of on-chain governance activity throughout the month, serving as the submitter for the full slate of mainnet proposals brought to a vote in June. Several Aave Labs proposals reached execution, including the onboarding of PT-srUSDe-22OCT2026 to Aave V3 Core, alongside the asset listings and chain activations detailed in the sections below. Further proposals authored by Aave Labs remain in active voting, including an update to the USDG price feed across Aave V3 instances.

Beyond its own proposals, Aave Labs continued to support fellow service providers by facilitating the on-chain submission of their proposals, spanning funding, emissions, service provider renewals, and security tooling. A consolidated view of recent proposal activity is available on the Aave voting dashboard.

Asset Technical Assessments

We published the Technical Asset Listing Framework, a standardized methodology for evaluating assets and establishing clearer requirements for onboarding and expansion discussions. The framework is designed to align with the Aave Risk Framework proposed by LlamaRisk, with the combined approach intended to reduce the protocol’s overall risk exposure.

Applying that methodology, we published the technical assessment of the stcUSD listing on Aave V3 MegaETH. We also published the technical assessment of the assets proposed for listing alongside the Monad deployment on Aave V3. In parallel, we are actively working on the assessments of the assets to be listed alongside the Avalanche and Arc deployments on Aave V4.

Beyond the technical analysis itself, these assessments are supported by meetings and asynchronous discussions with asset issuers, working to implement the recommended mitigations ahead of listing.

What else are we working on?

GHO

We presented the stkGHO to sGHO migration tool, a helper contract that facilitates migrating user deposits from the deprecated stkGHO contract into the new ERC-4626 compliant sGHO vault. The tool is intended to simplify the transition for users moving to the upgraded savings product.

In support of @TokenLogic, we also contributed to the implementation of the sGHO L2 strategy, the GHO router, the sGhoSteward update, and the GSM deployment. In parallel, GHO is set to be activated on Monad alongside the market activation.

Aave App

The Aave App reached an early milestone with the start of internal user onboarding, marking its first presence in production. An initial cohort of internal users has been onboarded so far, allowing the team to validate the experience under real conditions and gather direct feedback ahead of a wider rollout. This initial phase follows a deliberately measured approach, prioritizing stability and a smooth onboarding flow before expanding access.

Aave Pro

The Paxos Hub (proposal#496) was surfaced in Aave Pro, representing the first Hub and Spokes addition since Aave V4 activation and bringing the new market into the dedicated V4 interface.

Aave Pro continued to receive product and usability improvements throughout the month, including improved UI visibility for featured assets with active reward campaigns, and ongoing preparations to support new chains within the interface. Additional work focused on resolving smaller bugs and fixes to improve the user experience and the overall stability and security of the platform.

Aave Interface

The stkGHO to sGHO migration functionality was added to the Aave Interface and will become available upon activation, providing users with the interface support needed to carry out the migration directly within the application.

The team also began integrating fun.xyz to enable a more seamless experience for supplying assets through crosschain swaps, exchange accounts, and bank accounts. Support was added for ENS v2 and for Narval institutional wallets, broadening the range of identity and custody options available to users. In addition, the team took ownership of the onaave.com toolset and is responsible for its ongoing maintenance.

Aave Kit (SDK)

Adding support to handle viewing WETH and ETH as combined assets for ETH native chains

What’s coming next?

Our main focus for the coming month will be

  • Complete the Aave V3 Monad activation and bring the market, including GHO, fully online.

  • Advance the Aave V4 activations on Avalanche and Arc, alongside the corresponding asset technical assessments.

  • Continue preparing the Aave App for launch, expanding the onboarding cohort and refining the experience ahead of a wider rollout.

  • Support GHO growth through the sGHO migration path, the L2 strategy, and ongoing integration work.

  • Continue Aave Pro and Aave Interface improvements, including new-chain support and the fun.xyz, ENS v2, and Narval integrations.

Stay tuned for next month’s update.
