[ARFC] Update Aave Liquidity Committee SAFE

title: [ARFC] Update Aave Liquidity Committee SAFE
author: @karpatkey_TokenLogic
created: 2024-04-15

Summary

The publication proposes updating the Aave Liquidity Committee (ALC) SAFE signer requirement.

Motivation

The ALC currently consists of 6 members and soon to be 5 members with Solarcurve stepping back to focus on other ventures.

The 4 of 6 requirement has proven onerous due to various contributors tending to other Aave DAO related commitments and the spread of signers across various time zones. Multiple bribe budgets and votes are submitted over the weekend and often members are traveling for conferences during this time.

With SolarCurve stepping down to focus on other initiatives, this publication proposes updating the SAFE signer requirement to 3 of 5. As an interim step, the SAFE has been temporarily transitioned to 3 of 5, to enable smoother processing of transactions. The ALC will soon consist of the following committee members:

With Solarcurves departure, the ALC SAFE will become 3 of 5. This publication seeks approval from the DAO to keep in place the 3 signer requirement.

Specification

ALC SAFE: 0x205e795336610f5131Be52F09218AF19f0f3eC60

Proposed Signer Configuration: 3 of 5

Next Steps

  1. Gather feedback from the community and risk service providers.
  2. If consensus is reached on this ARFC, escalate this proposal to the Snapshot stage.
  3. If Snapshot outcome is YAE, new threshold will be considered canon

I recommend adding someone from either the Aave Risk Service Provider or the Delegate Platform as a new signatory to the GLC Safe.

While the assets managed under the GLC increase, lower the signature requirements for the GLC Safe would go against the principles of financial management. However, a slowdown in the GLC’s action speed is also undesirable. Therefore, we recommend adding a new signatory in order to maintain speed while also preserving security.

Hello,

ALC is mainly boring operational work (vote, boost gauge, distribute incentives budgets) done by service providers paid for this as part of their scope.

From our perspective there’s little need for more onboarding but if risk service provider want to join the fun they would be welcomed to replace solar curve signer slot

After Snapshot monitoring, the current ARFC Snapshot has ended, reaching both Quorum and YAE as winning option with 400K votes.

Therefore, the Snapshot has passed and ALC SAFE will become 3 of 5 signer requirement.
