Thousands of people have been killed in Turkey due to earthquakes with magnitudes 7.8 and 7.5. In the last 48 hours, more than 100 aftershocks caused widespread destruction.
The quakes and aftershocks toppled buildings and sent rescuers scrambling through the rubble to find survivors.
The death toll was expected to rise, with experts warning that aftershocks could continue for days or weeks. Millions of people live in temporary shelters, cars, and containers with minimal supplies of food, water, clothes and electricity.
