[TEMP CHECK] Onboard LINK to Aave V3 Base Instance

[TEMP CHECK] Add LINK to Aave V3 Base Instance

Chainlink has announced the Chainlink Reserve, further optimizing the LINK token’s risk profile for AAVE’s lending markets.

Summary

Most ETH infrastructure including AAVE is heavily reliant on Chainlink Oracle services.

LINK is already accepted as collateral on Aave v3 Mainnet Instance and Aave v3 Arbitrum Instance. It would follow that Base, a quickly growing L2 sponsored by Coinbase, would be the next market to accept LINK as collateral. Base like Arbitrum uses Chainlink for all of it’s oracle services.

Through jumper.exchange 100 ETH on Mainnet can be swapped for 19074 LINK on Base with only -0.60% price impact. Similarly, 10,000 LINK can be bridged from ETH Mainnet to Base with negligible price impact. (Liquidity routed via LI.FI, GLACIS, 1inch)

Motivation

  • Chainlink is a vital protocol to the health of the entire ETH ecosystem.
  • The LINK token has 2/3 of its token’s in circulation.

185k transactions from the Chainlink LINK Token on BASE Mainnet Contract
