This proposal seeks to update the Aave governance forum with features natively provided by Discourse.
Motivation
The Aave governance forum hasn’t really changed since inception in 2020. Over time many new features have been introduced by Discourse which would allow the DAO to be more transparent, offer more flexibility and efficiency, best examples are AI tools like “Summarize” or lables and custom pfp flairs. These could help to identify trusted member within the DAO like Orbit-Delegates or several SP.
Here are some examples that could be implemented:
As can be seen in the screenshot, we could add name tags to forum accounts and a small icon indicating that this user is a recognized delegate under the Orbit program/SP/etc.
Discourse also enabled some AI tools. In this case its a tool to summarize threads, including comments. Making it easier to follow conversations, or get a quick update on a bigger proposal within a short timeframe.
Specification
The idea is to identify different options Discourse is offering and implementing these, if they have a positive impact and can be implemented without disturbing the workflow within the DAO. I will be taking care of these changes and accordingly adjust tags, logos, etc.
In order not to create a governance overflow, the idea is to create only this one proposal to get approval from the DAO to implement these changes in the background continously. The DAO will be informed about each change and the benefits of the implemented features upfront.

The ACI is supportive of this net positive proposal, because @EzR3aL is already an admin and this proposal doesn’t have any funding request, we suggest implementing directly after Temp check to reduce governance bloat.

Improving the forum’s usability and transparency is a low-cost, high-impact step that will benefit the entire Aave community. Features like AI summaries and delegate badges can make governance more accessible, especially for new participants, while also saving time for active delegates.

Deletes/silences new accounts if they try to offer services like “wallet recovery, whatsapp support, etc”

As its currently being tested and some smaller bugs being fixed it is limited to the last 20 votes. Over the next few days, more tests will happen and if everything is fine, it will be fully activated for all proposal upcoming.
EDIT: Temporarily deactivating the plugin again to do some bug fixing and add features requested by the DAO.
EDIT 2: Plugin has been re-activated and should now work properly. Feedback from the DAO has been implemented.

Widget is now collapsing when scrolling down, which is especially useful on small screen devices like a smartphone or tablet. As soon as you scroll up again, the whole widget is visible.
