Update on Aave Horizon Asset Onboarding Process

Aave Horizon has operated under a delegated model since launch, with Aave Labs holding the executive role and handling asset listing decisions, supported by LlamaRisk on risk parameters, oracle configuration, and caps. That model allowed the market to move at the pace institutional partners required while it found its footing.

With Governance Framework v2 now in effect, we are aligning Aave Horizon asset onboardings with the DAO’s standard governance process. Going forward, every new asset proposed for the market will go through Aave governance.

Each onboarding will follow the Asset Listing ARFC process defined in Governance Framework v2, including a published business case, a Risk Assessment from LlamaRisk, and a Technical Assessment from Aave Labs during the ARFC discussion period, followed by a binding Snapshot vote.

Upon a successful vote, Aave Labs will implement the listing with risk analysis from Llama Risk.

This change gives Aave DAO direct authority over which assets enter Aave Horizon’s collateral set as the market expands beyond tokenized Treasuries into new categories of real-world assets, effective today.
