You withdraw everything from Aave and then sent it from wallet to wallet till you sent it to Centre.io. Nothing was being stolen. You or the person who had access to that wallet did everything. No error or bug in the protocol.

At no stage did I withdraw anything from Aave and until I checked the site a few days ago I do not recall even checking it for many months
In these circumstances I can only assume someone has got into my wallet and stolen the proceeds.
I obviously will not be using Aave again and will dispense with my MetaMask wallet.
