[ARFC] TokenLogic Financial Services Provider

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

It is a no-brainer for us to renew TokenLogic’s engagement with the Aave DAO for another year. The work they have done is fantastic and the scope of work is necessary for the DAO. The 1M GHO budget is fair enough for the work done, especially given the work on GHO being so lucrative and crucial for the DAO. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

Note: We missed the vote on this proposal due to the holiday period but wanted to signal the rationale for our support and the impending AIP vote.

[ARFC] karpatkey GHO Growth Service Provider

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

As per our comment on the forum, we are excited about the potential for building up GHO on Gnosis Chain and optimising the Gnosis Chain Aave instance, and about the sGHO vault. We’re satisfied with Karpatkey’s response as well, given that they will be able to closely measure the value they create on Gnosis Chain, and that the 5M POL funds will be subject to a separate, detailed proposal. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

[TEMP CHECK] Deploy Aave v3 on BOB

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

There are multiple reasons for Aave to deeply explore deploying on BOB:

  • Mainnet has been live since May 2024 and is a member of the OP Superchain, making deployment straightforward; the CCIP integration will also make it technically easy to deploy.
  • $250M in DeFi TVL and 320k unique users is more than sufficient user activity and growth.
  • BTC Staking is a growing narrative that will likely increase a lot through 2025, and BOB being the home of BTC LSTs is a big market to capture for Aave.
  • The potential of borrowing fees from the wBTC deployed on Aave through BTC LSTs is very high.
  • The indication from the BOB team to support GHO.
  • The high liquidity commitments for Aave and the proposed liquidity program.

Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this TEMP CHECK.

[TEMP CHECK] Deploy Aave v3 on Sonic

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

The incentives offered by the Sonic Foundation for an Aave deployment are high and will enable Aave to capture the Sonic market. The chain is a new one and given the relative lack of success of Aave on Fantom, the DAO should be careful and pragmatic in risk parameters and assets to support on Sonic, and wait to see the traction the chain gains before going all in. Given that Sonic is a new chain with high potential, we would like to see the risk providers’ analysis in the ARFC stage.

Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

[TEMP CHECK] Onboard rstETH to Aave V3 Prime Instance

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

Given the $250m in TVL for rstETH, and the 4x Mellow points boost for Aave borrowers, we would like to see the risk providers’ analysis in the ARFC stage. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

[ARFC] Proposal to Remove USDS from sUSDe Liquid E-Mode in Aave Prime Instance

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

Since the inclusion of USDS in the sUSDe Liquid e-mode has led to the liquidity being primarily used for looping strategies, which has caused interest rate spikes and elevated borrow rates for users using ETH as collateral, it makes sense to remove USDS from the e-mode. It is also a good idea to keep USDS listed within the e-mode and set it as non-borrowable to prevent impact on existing user positions. We’re also glad to see the analysis pertaining to the increased LB from 3 to 4%.

Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

Onboard AUSD

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

This is the onchain proposal for this Snapshot ARFC that we voted to ABSTAIN for according to our rationale here. However, given the updated technical analysis from BGD Labs and the Snapshot ARFC passing, we are more inclined to onboard AUSD than vote against the proposal. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

[ARFC] Aave v3 Gnosis Instance Updates

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

Given that the feedback from the risk providers around sDAI has been followed and the asset is not borrowable due to the risks outlined by LlamaRisk and Chaos Labs, combined with osGNO being separated out into a different AIP, we are comfortable with this ARFC and will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

[TEMP CHECK] Deploy Aave v3 on Mantle

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

The strong POL and Deposit Commitments, Mantle’s TVL and that of mETH, and the close integration with Bybit and access to its user base are good enough reasons to move this proposal to the ARFC stage. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

Funding Proposal: TokenLogic Financial Service Provider

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

This is the onchain proposal for this Snapshot ARFC that we were in favour of according to our rationale here. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal as well.

USDS Interest Rate Curve Update

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

Reducing the spikes above UOptimal has become a key issue and increasing the target borrow rate at UOptimal along with a Slope2 of 35% for both USDS markets should help in alleviating the problem. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

weETH Risk Parameter Adjustment

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

Given that Chaos Labs’ simulations have indicated that weETH can be a more efficient asset for Aave, and that the protocol can increase LTV and LT for the asset while decreasing its LB and maintaining appropriate risk levels, we are comfortable with the proposal. Moreover, LlamaRisk is also in favour of the changes. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.

[ARFC] Add rlUSD to Core Instance

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

Given that rlUSD has received NYDFS approval, and that both risk providers are in favour of the proposal, we will also vote YES in favour of it.

Proposal to Remove USDS from sUSDe Liquid E-Mode in Aave Prime Instance

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

This is the onchain proposal for this Snapshot ARFC that we voted in favour of according to our rationale here. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal as well.

[ARFC] BGD. Aave v3.3 Sherlock Contest

Vote Result: YES

Rationale

Security is paramount, especially for a large upgrade like Aave v3.3 and the impending Umbrella upgrade to the Safety Module, and an audit competition is necessary. The structure of the competition seems sensible and we trust BGD and Sherlock to have designed it to be effective. Therefore, we will vote YES in favour of this proposal.
